Kamloops is located halfway between Calgary or Edmonton and Vancouver. Golfview@SunRivers Bed & Breakfast is situated just a quarter-mile off Highway 1 (Trans Canada) where it meets Highway 5 North.

Sun Rivers Golf Course Club House is a two-minute walk from the Bed & Breakfast. Tee-off times can be arranged in advance. Special rates apply on certain days and can be booked by the Bed & Breakfast for guests. The 18-hole course is challenging, with deep ravines and mountain sides adding to the interest of the well-laid out course that overlooks the river valley. Par for the course is 76 for 18-holes.

For those staying for a few days there are numerous other great courses in Kamloops for golf enthusiasts. None are more than 20 minutes away. Kamloops Golf and Country Club is an old, established course with lush tree-lined fairways. The Dunes Golf Course is a newer, more desert-style course. Rivershore Golf and Country Club was designed by Robert Trent-Jones and has hosted numerous Canadian championships. Within 10 minutes are three par-3 courses.

Also a two-minute walk from the Bed & Breakfast is The Clubhouse Restaurant. Serving meals from breakfast until dinner each day, it is a great spot to stop after 18-holes for a meal, a drink or a snack. Friendly staff, a good chef and a dining room with a view add up to a pleasant experience.

The city of Kamloops boosts a wonderful park area along the Thompson River, only five minutes from Bed & Breakfast. Walking and biking trails make their way through the park. For those who want a more adventurous hike or bike, the hills around Kamloops are known throughout North America as some of the best for mountain biking treks.

An eight-theatre Cineplex, a 100-store mall and dozens of well-known restaurants can be accessed a mere three miles drive from the Bed & Breakfast.

The city is also home to Western Canada Theatre, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, and Kamloops Art Gallery, all professional arts organizations; the Kamloops Blazers, members of the Western Hockey League; and University College of the Cariboo.

Forty minutes away is Sun Peaks Resort, a year-round world class resort that attracts 300,000 visitors to its mountains for winter skiing and 100,000 for the summer hiking, mountain biking and golfing.

An hour away is Shuswap Lake, a beautiful summer paradise where one can find provincial parks, boating marinas, houseboating and a variety of summer activities.
